I have always loved cooking, almost as much as I have enjoyed eating. Columbia, My hometown, has afforded a great variety of foods to try throughout the years and inspiration to cook them myself. Barbecue has been one of the great influences in my journey. Through out the Midwest and beyond I have always sought out the barbecue that made a city unique. I have enjoyed some really great dishes. Then it occurred to me that Columbia, in the middle of Missouri, is also in the middle of the great barbecue cultures of America.
There are five major styles of barbecue: North Carolina and Memphis, which rely on pork and represent the oldest styles, Kansas City and Texas, which use beef as well as pork, and St. Louis–style, characterized by its process of grilling and then saucing the meat. With Columbia nestled between them.
I want to bring to Columbia the great traditions of barbecue from across all the regional variations. I want to make sure that here in Mid-Missouri you can find the passion for food and for cooking that I have. I want to invite you to Missouri Barbecue Supply.
